At Elmira Endodontist, we are selective and strategic about which radiographs we take and when they are necessary. We adhere to established clinical guidelines in our imaging protocols. Radiographs reveal critical information that cannot be observed through visual examination alone. These images help us identify cavities between teeth, assess bone levels, and evaluate overall bone health. Additionally, we can examine tooth roots and nerve structures, diagnose conditions such as cysts or tumors, and evaluate damage following dental trauma.

Dental radiographs serve as essential diagnostic tools for treatment planning and ongoing oral health maintenance. The exposure time required for dental radiographs is minimal. Our office employs state-of-the-art Digital Imaging Technologies. Digital imaging reduces exposure time by approximately 90 percent compared to conventional film radiographs. This technology also enhances our ability to obtain detailed diagnostic information, potentially improving cavity detection capabilities.

Digital imaging provides the advantage of patient image storage and facilitates rapid, seamless transfer of images to specialists or insurance providers when needed.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays provide enhanced precision through computer monitor viewing, eliminating the need to examine traditional 35mm film against light sources. This technology reduces radiation exposure by approximately 83 percent compared to conventional methods.

Surgical Microscopes

The integration of surgical microscopes has transformed the practice of Endodontic Microsurgery. We have invested in premium Carl Zeiss surgical microscopes that deliver exceptional magnification and illumination for our surgical procedures.
